Dear TVCC Family & Friends,
What a crazy year! Covid-19, elections, virtual school, riots, political unrest, and yet, “(We) press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14 It is all too easy to be depressed with our circumstances rather than impressed with our mighty God as we continue to be the people He has called us to be.
Jesus asked the question of His followers and it is just as applicable today as it was 2000 years ago: “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Luke 18:8 In other words, when Jesus comes, true faith will be comparatively rare, as in the days of Noah. Let’s not be a people of “no faith” or “little faith” but of “great faith” reflecting our Sovereign God’s majesty and glory in each of our lives as we give together to the 2020 SHOWING WE CARE CHRISTMAS OFFERING.

As we’ve said many times, you can give without loving but you can’t love without giving. Why? Because God is love and God first loved and God so loved, giving the greatest gift ever, the gift of His Son, Jesus – our Redeemer, our Savior, our Friend.

Last year, Tennessee Valley gave $97,886 through the Showing We Care Christmas Offering and our goal for our 2020 Missions’ offering is $100,000. This annual offering allows us to support various missions’ efforts. If you’d like to see the many areas we are supporting and serving, you can see our Missions Outreach report on our TVCC App or visit There is a link there for online giving or you can give through the regular TVCC offering and simply mark the amount designated to SWC on your envelope. And remember, you can give a one-time gift or spread it out so that it fits your budget.

“How much should we give?” Here is a simple formula to follow: Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.” 2 Corinthians 8:12. In other words, equal sacrifice, not equal giving. As Jesus taught us in Luke 12:28, “Much is required from those to whom much is given, for their responsibility is greater.”
As a Great Commission and Great Commandment church, we are to be a people of P.E.A.C.E. PEACE is all about addressing the five global giants - spiritual emptiness, self-serving leadership, poverty, disease, and illiteracy - through the power of ordinary people in the local church. We can fulfill these Commissions by supporting personal, local, and global missions’ efforts, supplying volunteer as well as financial resources. As we serve and give together, it makes it possible to continue this great work we have been sent to do.
In a time of uncertainty, let us proclaim the certainty of God! Don’t doubt what God can do through you. Put your faith in Christ. May we proclaim as the great missionary, J. Hudson Taylor…
“It is not by trying to be faithful, but in looking to the Faithful One, that we win the victory.”

We look forward to 2021 and seeing all God will do as we work together through the 2020 Showing We Care Christmas Offering.
May God bless and multiply our giving!
Pastor Steve
